The Milestone School
The Gloucestershire Disability Fund paid for a new people carrier for The Milestone School in Gloucester after a previous vehicle had to be scrapped.
The Milestone School’s motto is to remove obstacles and enable access to learning for all students. Knowing how important it is for youngsters to get out into the local community as part of their studies, trustees of the Gloucestershire Disability Fund were delighted to enable the school to purchase a new vehicle so this could continue for many years to come.
The Milestone School is a special school for children aged from 2 –16 years old. More than 300 pupils are accommodated in the school, in 33 classes and four Key Stages. The majority of pupils have a severe learning difficulty, and there are also many with profound and multiple learning difficulties and severe autistic spectrum condition. Increasing numbers also have more complex needs. The Milestone School is one of the largest special schools in the country and is a specialist school for communication and interaction.
